Dear friends and family, we are gathered here today to witness and celebrate a union. Before us stands the couple, who promise each other love and commitment, offer one another a home, a sense of belonging across borders.
“The Wedding” is a one-day experience of art and theatre, highlighting the recent turmoil and violence surrounding immigration and green card policies in the United States. Works by over 20 emerging artists will be threaded together through the enactment of a cross-national marriage. A wedding is a ritual. So is how installations and performances are presented and experienced at “The Wedding.”
